There have been many rants about how weak it is. It is agreed that it needs a little buff, but the main point of the skill is to provide you and your teammates pets with +20 armor for 30 seconds.
I want to meet Otyugh someday :P

Yeah! There's another thread just like this in the suggestion forum...um...from 2 minutes ago...also created by a guy named serenitys flame. Weird. Yeah.
edit: And also here for some reason: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...0006298&page=3
Before the thread is closed for that, I just want to say I'm still pissed off Otyugh's Cry isn't a spell so that I could echo it. Twice.

You know... it could be interesting if it involved a much larger range, and if the native critters were higher levels and mirrored any commands you gave to your own pet for a set period of time.

Actually its a Very Useful Skill, In a B/P Team (5 Pets tanking) one ranger Carrying it will boost the AL of all the tanks by 20, and it is inexpensive and easy to keep it up 24/7.
the wild animals part is hopeless, but the skill isnt

20 bonus armour to all nearby pets. 20.
That's the difference between warrior armour and caster armour.
It corresponds to a 29.3% reduction in all damage without armour penetration or ignoring.
It gives a lvl 20 pet 100 AL for 30 seconds.
Only useless thing about it is that it only affects nearby pets, not your own pet as well if you aren't standing close to him.
And because this is a long lasting AoE skill, a group of beastmasters only need one person with this to have all their pets get an additional damage reduction.
Not too useful, but certainly not on the same level as Archer's Signet.
EDIT: Damage reduction is 100*(1-1/root 2) %, not 100*root 2 %

Maybe they should make it more of a summoning skill.

You know what is pathetic? Players who can not read skill descriptions and come whining about whatever it is they thought to read.
How, serenitys flame, are you ever going to combine skills into a build if you can not read their descriptions?

not sure why rangers dont have a "charm Animal" and a "Charm Monster" skill
2 classic skills... i know this is guildwars thats not really my point...
the skills could be extremely usefull for PvE if anyone cares about PvE anymore...

...just wondering: if it's a shout, why don't we see anything in a text bubble? Everytime the skill is used I'm sure a howl/squawk/bleat/moo/bark/whatever can be programmed in (kind of like the tengu grunt) I'm kind of curious as to what an Otyugh sounds like

it'd be better if it had an attribute tied effect that 'conjured' atleast XX levels of animals to attack enemies.
so say at level 13 beast mastery it conjured up to 30 levels of animals to attack, with none lower than level 13 - and the animal type being dependent on the area youre in.
ofcourse that would be crazy overpowered with lots of rangers, so i dont know, maybe there could be a fixed limit on how many animals can be conjured at any one time by any PCs.
